Hadimba Mata Temple

This is the famous Hadimba Temple. It is situated in Dhungri, Manali, District Kullu. This place has also proved be a site of Tourist attraction. It is believed that Maa Hadimba was the wife of Bheem who was one of the Five Pandava's. After killing the evil King Hidimb Bheem married Hadimba who was also evil but after marrying Bheem she was renowned as Hadimba MAA. She was now treated as a holy spirit. On the last day of dusshera, the day of Lanka Dahan Hadimba MAA is worshiped with the sacrifice of the lives of seven animals namely Goat, Fish, Cock, Buffalo's calf, Pig etc. Every year hundreds of tourists come and visit this place. Around this place tourists find other adventure sports like Skiing, Rock Climbing, Trekking etc. The temple is situated between the forests of Dhungri. On the way to the Temple you can also find many animals kept for tourist attraction like rabbits, yaks, pigeons, horses etc. On the whole it is a great tourist spot admired by all.
